We are Ken and Annie, and we have lived in Brandsby for nearly 50 years. Barn Owl Cottage sits next to our home, and we restored it with one aim: to create the kind of holiday cottage we would be delighted to stay in ourselves. Annie knows the local footpaths inside out, while Ken makes sure everything in the cottage is cared for and ready for your arrival.

A beautiful cottage which was really comfortable and welcoming. It is well equipped and nice and warm, unfortunately it was too warm to light the log burner but maybe next time. We all had a fantastic time and explored the local area which was wonderful, all of the little market towns were within easy reach.

Barn Owl Cottage is a well thought out excellently equipped and beautifully designed holiday cottage ideal for a family or two couples sharing. Its location is ideal; close enough to enjoy the city of York (approx 25 mins) but surrounded by beautiful countryside and gorgeous villages, country pubs and cosy cafes. A visit to The Bread Hut is a must! Several walking routes available as well as NT and English Heritage sites to visit. Host Ann was very welcoming and available if needed. Our second visit and it won't be our last. Thank you.
